Correction: Lite offers TWO (count 'em) sizes - "fast decay" and "slow
decay". Yes, the NUMBER of available envelopes in Lite is, uh,
unsatisfactory - but the attitude is cool. I'd like to see more of that
straight-forward attitude, perhaps a choice of 10 envelope types like
"drum", "string", "organ" etc. IN ADDITION to full power hi-rez ol'
fashion envelope tweaking. In HEX, that's how I like it.

It's possble I missed something, but is there already a version of

Did anyone experience the MIDIFIER? It dosn't load back
its own configs! E.g. it writes down a filename.cfg, a file
with proper data of settings I've made appears; then openin'
this config it pretends to load something, "filename.cfg"
appears on the screentop, but no settings are picked up -
"none" patches etc... The program is a lot of fun but with
this function disabled it's half-useless. Seems to be just
my problem since no one reported of such things - if someone
got it to work OK please let me know; but well what can be
wrong?

It's in GUSDK201.zip in ..../gravis/util. There has been an update in the SDK
which is found in gravis/bbs (or something like that). There's also PatchMaker
Lite V1.1 found in ../submit or may have been moved to .../gravis/bbs , file
PMK110.zip (or similar). While you're there get 00Index.All from the base
ultrasound directory, this is a full list of all files except .../submit.

Thought it would suck, but Patch Maker Lite is actually very useful. Its
automatic looping is good for melodic patches, and the tuning feature
helped me hone some off-pitch patches from Epas. While it is a little
too slick for precision tuning, using it in conjunction with PED.EXE gives
me a nice patch editing system for Windows.
Does anyone (Gravis included, i suppose) offer any conjecture as to when a
non-"Lite" version of Patch Maker will be released? There's not a
waveform display to be a had in the current incarnation--and while it
isolates newbies from actual waveform data, it's a bit of constraint of
techno fiends like myself.
